Reflecting upon Jesus' identity, first, with regards to human ancestry, His mother was Mary. He is the descendant of a woman alone. This genealogy is in line with eternal prophecy, since early in the Garden of Eden, Adonai, God, said to Eve that her descendent would crush the wicked serpent, meaning our adversary, the devil. The Lord was emphasizing that the Savior of the world would come through a woman's offspring humanly speaking, and not the offspring of a man.

Again, in many places the Scriptures foretell of the Messiah descending through the line of David, who was of the tribe of Judah. Most certainly, Luke traces Mary's lineage retrospectively through King David, and eventually to Adam and Eve.

Recall our earlier messages on The God Of Israel; Jacob called for his sons and proclaimed that 'the scepter would not pass from Judah, nor the ruler's staff from between his legs, until he comes to whom obedience belongs; and it is he whom peoples will obey.'

Therefore, Y'shua's mother was Mary, God's faithful handmaiden. However, the angel Gabriel made it clear that His Father would be the One and only true God. Therefore, Jesus derived true divinity, since it was the Holy Spirit which came upon a woman, and the power of the Most High, El Elyon, overshadowed her and allowed her to conceive. So, the holy One born to Mary was indeed the Son of God.

The Messiah is therefore distinct: His mother was an authentic Jewess, an offspring of David; while His Father is El Shaddai, the Almighty, the Creator of heaven and earth.

But, why did God descend to earth with this human existence?................................
